The MAPT is a full member of the EFPT which is an independent federation of psychiatric trainees associations. The MAPT supports the EFPT’s goals which are:
- To explore the diversity and richness of current training of psychiatrists in Europe;
- To support the development of national trainees’ organizations in all European countries;
- To promote and represent internationally the views of the trainees in all branches of psychiatry;
- To translate the discussion of trainees into action at a local level to improve training.
The MAPT was represented during the 28th Romanian Virtual Forum by Dr Fabrizia Cassar, Dr Giovanni Grech and Dr Bertha Grech. During this Forum Dr Giovanni Grech was elected as EFPT Treasurer in addition to keeping his role as Exchange Working Group Chair.
Furthermore, the Maltese delegation will be hosting the EFPT Forum in Malta in 2022 in liaison with President Elect Asilay Seker (Turkey).
